Course Objective

The profession of Certified Welding Coordinators as per EN ISO 14731(CWCs) is a high-ranking mandatory role required by the Railway industry, dealing particularly with the standards prevalent as PED,CE, EN, BS, DIN & ISO with comprehensive, specific, and basic-technical know how for planning, supervision & testing at welding fabrication site or shop: Timely review of fabricator’s capability in line with the requirements of product standard along with supplementary prerequisite, if any, shall be the major routine tasks & responsibilities to ensure an acceptable quality product without there work or rejection..

Theory
  • Welding coordination-Tasks and responsibilities (ENISO14731];5Simplementation
  • Safety precaution essentials for the weld-shops in industry;
  • Overview of welding and allied processes-150/FDIS 4063
  • Design requirement for welding Ref BS EN 15085-3
  • Symbolic representation on drawing ISO 2553
  • Documents governing welding inspection ISO-9001,3834-2&EN15085;
  • Physical states of metals critical for the destructive tests;ENISO5178/9016/5173/9015-182
  • Basics of welding metallurgy & heat-treatments;
  • Imperfections in welded joint sand the limits for acceptance as per ENISO5817/DIN EN ISO 10042
  • Basics of non destructive tests & usability criteria. ENISO17635
Practical
  • Live demo & hands on experience with Cutting, Brazing and Welding to familiarize with the variables of welding processes-ie. 311, 111, 114, 121, 125, 131, 135, 136, 138, 141, 142, 143 & 145, inuence quality;
  • Live demo & hands on experience with the methods of Destructive Testing-Includes Metallographic (Macro &
  • Micro), All-weld/Transverse -Tensile, Bend, & Impact-tests;
  • Live demo and hands on practice with NDT-VT, PT, MT, UT & RT-interpretation; Making smart use of weld-gauges & tools by the participating welding inspectors.
  • Observation, identification, and evaluation of the weld discontinuities & defects;
