Repair & Maintenance Welding For Engineers & Managers

Repair & Maintenance Welding For Engineers & Managers

Course Code: WRE-01

Duration: Six Days

Course Objective

Our plant & machinery may halt for a while but not the wear and tear in most critically applied component parts. In fact, the dearth of material recognition, procedural welding support, the absence of dimensional tolerance and circumstantial hurried approach all put together tend to make repair & maintenance task tricky. Thus maintenance personnel do require an outstanding analytical approach to reinstate the part back into the action soon and save the inventory, which is costly.

Course Theory
  • Introduction to the process of technology for maintenance& repair by welding
  • Oxy Fuel-gas Welding, Brazing & Cutting
  • Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW/SMAW)
  • Metal-Cored & Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • Thermal spraying process & techniques
  • Safety precautions in welding
  • Types of welding consumables and care in storage & handling
  • The Typical response of Cast iron, Cast steel, En-steel, Low Alloy High strength steel, Quenched & Tempered steel, Handheld steel,
  • Stainless steel and nonferrous metals during welding
  • Weld defects – causes &cures
  • Repair welding procedure& personal
  • Basics of NDT non-destructive tests
  • Case study and course evaluation
Course Practical
  • Live demo and practice of Cutting, Brazing, Welding processes (OFC, OAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GMAW, GTAW, PAC)and thermal spraying to familiarize with their merit& demerits;
  • Destructive tests – Metallographic &Hardness
  • Non-Destructive Tests for surface & subsurface discontinuities
  • Films on the technology of welding
Who Should Attend?

Week-day work-shop intended to add the level of expertise amongst participating engineers and managers responsible to guide the team of maintenance welding personnel of their industry; such as Automotive (tool room), Armament, Cement, Chemical, Construction, Fertilizer, Mining, Paper-plant, Petroleum, Power plant, Railways and Shipping etc.
